Business 2.0 writes about Writely

Interesting article Google Office in the offing. Some important things Om Malik forgot to mention.
1.Not everyone has a broadband Internet connection. It will take 5 more years for google to reach a number close enough to MS office installations.
2.Microsoft Office is not one product, it’s bundled with applications like Excel (An application widely used by Financial Institutions for Data Mining/Data warehousing), Outlook and Business Contact Manager. In my opinion Google should focus more on improving existing service. Hope they didn’t pay more than a million for writely,my valuation for writely is 50,000 dollars.

50k is way too low of a guess for what Google purchased Writely for. It was a company with a successful product that had a growing community. Why would the 3 guys who made Writely sell their company for only 50k? It would be pointless. My guess is in the range of 2 to 4 million

I will not say writely as successful they started last year.Google must have paid for writely as a product not a company which has a community. The Product will not more than max 1 million.
