Focus:Big Games

Here is a interesting podcast from DigitalLifestyle ‘06 about Big Game, so what is a Big Game, it is like transforming an entire city into the world’s largest board game, or hundreds of players scouring the streets looking for invisible treasure, or a TV show reaching out to interact with real-time audiences nationwide.

Sounds vaguely similar to majestic - which provided a conspiracy plot story (think “The Net” and “The Game”) but wasn’t a proper PC game per-se. Instead it relied on non-game interaction (for example, the game would send an email to you, or an IM message, taking you to a website).

Sounded cool in practice, but petered off in popularity after a while.

While I wish these guys luck, I can’t imagine throngs of obese gamers lining up to actually shoot each other in a real world DOOM session (it’s called paintball anyway I think).

    Prakash,

Hi I am an educator and some of my teachers are interested in podcasting. I recently had a request to see how to have an embedded player like the one you have on this post. If you have a chance and could let me know how you did it that would be great!!! Thanks in advanced for your time.
